Seriously, I don't read books. Some of you may be skeptical if you know me because I often have a book in hand. How can I say I don't read, right? If you follow me on goodreads.com you'll see a lengthy list of just the books I can remember off the top of my head. No, I don't read......I like to say I DEVOUR books. I can't remember the last time it took me more than 2 days to read a book for entertainment(work or educational books are a different matter!). I take that back.... I read the last Harry Potter really slowly savouring it as the last book in the series.
In fact, my obsession with a book until finished can be quite tricky for me. I have been known to ditch housework, homework, errands, sleeping, etc to give myself more time to read. Needless to say I have had to discipline myself over the last years. Thankfully, I have summers off, so I often put off new books until the summer. I try to stick to re-reading certain books during the working part of my year. Lately, that has been really hard though. I got this neat little temptation called an e-reader. I can literally take my books everywhere. Waiting in line? Take out the e-reader. Stuck in the vet's office? Take out the e-reader. Don't want to socialize with family on dinner nights? Take out the e-reader. You get the picture. Hundreds of books at my fingertips. It's like crack for readers.
Happy devouring!
